TIRL Condemns All Violence in Elections in SVG

The Thusian Institute for Religious Liberty (TIRL) Inc. strongly condemns all violence; anti-rights and anti- freedoms behavior during this election period.
TIRL is a Human Rights Education organization with special emphasis on the Religious Liberty Right- the First Right.

TIRL understands the importance of these elections to Vincentians and we implore all to soberly exercise their inalienable or God-given and constitutionally protected rights and freedoms. You may exercise your freedom of choice but please respect the rights and freedoms of others. Debate, convince, propagate your views but do not resort to violent actions against your fellow human beings.

We all have our political freedom to belong to any party of our choice and to lawfully propagate our ideas without interference. The constitution of this country clearly states that a person "…shall not be hindered in the enjoyment of his freedom of expression…freedom to communicate ideas and information…; and a person "…shall not be hindered in enjoyment of his freedom of assembly and association" Section 10(1); Section11(1).

Understanding the influence of leaders on their supporters, we call upon the Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves Leader of the Unity Labor Party (ULP) to openly promote peace and foster, through his words and conduct, tolerance and respect for the rights and freedoms of all citizens. We urge the leader of the Opposition, New Democratic Party Hon: Arnhim Eustace to continue to do likewise.

TIRL also call upon supporters of both political parties (ULP and NDP) to exercise tolerance and respect the rights and freedoms of each other.
May God give us wisdom continually as a people, that we may be freedom-loving and tolerant during this period and beyond.
Long live freedom in SVG and may Righteousness exalt our nation as we exercise our God-given Rights and Freedoms in accordance with His will!

TIRL CONGRATULATES SENATOR ANESIA BAPTISTE

The Thusian Institute for Religious Liberty (TIRL) Inc. congratulates Mrs. Anesia Baptiste, Associate Director of the Institute, on her appointment as one of the New Democratic Party Senators in the parliament of St. Vincent and the Grenadines- the people's parliament.

We at the Institute are very grateful to God for the dedicated work that Mrs. Baptiste continues to do in educating Vincentians about their God-given Rights and Freedoms. Senator Baptiste is the host of TIRL's "The Rights of the people" TV program aired every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Friday of every month on SVGTV from 6:00-6:30 p.m. She also appeared regularly on our weekly interactive radio program aired on Cross Country radio every Tuesday night from 7:30-9:00 p.m. In her continued quest to provide education to her fellow citizens, Mrs. Baptiste published her first book- "Socialist Revolution, from Grenada to St. Vincent" in September 2010 in which, among other things, she exposed the dangers of communism and expounded on Good Governance.

We wish honourable Senator Baptiste the wisdom of Jesus Christ with continued watchfulness for the protection and defense of the fundamental, God-endowed inalienable Rights and Freedoms of ALL Vincentians. Indeed, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance".

We love you dearly in Christ and may the mercies of God attend you in the accomplishment of your noble task as a Senator.

(Anesia Baptiste was sworn in on December 29th 2010 at the House of Assembly in Kingstown, St. Vincent)
